THE BIG PICTURE

Your first budget starts with your life, not a blank spreadsheet. Answer the guided setup questions, review the category plans and goals Dime Shield creates, then choose your subscription in the mobile app.

Tell us about you

Create your account and answer guided questions about your household, income, expenses, and savings goals.

Review your starting budget

Dime Shield uses your answers to set up category plans and goals. Review and adjust the amounts to fit your life.

Choose how to continue

Review subscription options in the mobile app, then connect supported accounts or add manual accounts and keep your plan up to date.

01 / YOUR GUIDE

1. Create your account. Tell us what matters.

Sign up and complete any requested verification. The setup questions cover your household, income and pay schedule, regular expenses, and savings priorities. Your answers help build a useful starting point.

  • Already registered? Sign in to continue your existing setup.
  • Use your own income and expense information.
  • Keep passwords and verification codes private.

02 / YOUR GUIDE

2. Review a starting plan built from your answers.

Dime Shield generates category plans and savings goals from your setup information. Review the amounts and adjust or remove items that do not fit. You can add categories yourself if the generated plan needs more detail.

  • Check suggested category amounts.
  • Review goal targets and timelines.
  • Make changes before moving on.

03 / YOUR GUIDE

3. Choose a subscription and bring in your accounts.

Choose monthly or yearly billing in the mobile purchase flow and check any trial eligibility before confirming. If you already have active access, setup can continue without another purchase. Next, link supported accounts through Plaid or maintain manual accounts, then review balances and transactions against your plan.

  • Confirm the amount due and renewal terms.
  • Bank linking is optional; manual accounts need your updates.
  • Return regularly to review spending and adjust your plan.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions, answered.

Do I have to connect a bank?

No. You can begin with a manual account and keep its information updated yourself.

What should I review first?

Start with the generated category amounts and savings goals. After adding accounts, check balances, transaction categories, and recurring items so your plan reflects your information.

Can I use the same account on another device?

Yes. Use the same sign-in method and account rather than creating a second account.
